Sugar Because sugar delivers an energy boost, it's recommended that you avoid eating it before sleep, as it can cause you to toss and turn. 4. Spicy Foods Spicy foods can cause discomfort in our stomachs and sometimes even trigger acid reflux. This will keep you away and prevent you from those much needed hours of sleep. 5. Citrus Fruits Any type of citrus fruit is going to cause you to urinate more than other types of foods. This is going to have you waking multiple times at night and disrupting your sleep if you eat them before bed. 6.
